Artist
--------------------------------
Masamune Koike
Born in 1995 in Aichi Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Art and Design, Musashino University of the Arts. As a CG creator, I joined the creative platform "Sandwich.inc" run by sculptor Kohei Nawa, and have worked in spatial design and production using 3D technology and programming.
At the same time, I also worked in an architectural design office and was involved in the design work and development of modeling tools. Some of the projects I have worked on:
·3D production and structural design for Kohei Nawa’s large installation “Metamorphosis Garden” exhibited in the atrium space of GINZA SIX from April 2021 to October 2022
·Interior design for (THISIS)SHIZEN cafe in Shinpukan, Kyoto
·Programming for the wall work “CYCLE” installed in a complex in Ibaraki City, Osaka
·The entire process involved in the design and construction of ADX Co., Ltd.'s architectural work "SANU BEE" (drawing, 3D, programming, site management). Mr. Koike has created a unique expression that transcends the boundaries between contemporary art and architecture through works that give life to the space itself and explore the essence of time and movement.
Product Description
--------------
The "Blur" series was created by combining 3D and programming. While working at Sandwich Inc., the artist came into contact with contemporary dance and was inspired by the uniqueness of human movement.
The movement of lines is made from the movement of people, and the color is produced from the movement of the lines. By drawing the figure of a person running with countless lines, these lines move together every time the person moves.
Additionally, as this movement accelerates, the edges of the lines gradually blur, and this effect creates the illusion that time and space itself are vibrating.
For colors, we used small amounts of blue, white, and black, and although these three colors are simple, they play an important role in giving a sense of time and space.
Blue represents calm and serenity, black represents shadow and heaviness, and white represents air and lightness, and as these elements intertwine intricately, they express stagnation, loss, and rebirth of form.
This is the first video work of SUZUVERSE art.
